Rat and Nelly -sketch-

I made these two characters up last night just out of the blue. xD Along with a story that goes with them. ouo

Basically, the one on the left, David (or Rat, as he's usually called), grew up in a really bad part of town and was neglected by his parents. He ran away from home as a young teenager and got addicted to alcohol and cigarettes. He also started stealing, mostly for money to buy more alcohol and stuff. He doesn't want to be a bad person though and really just wants to be loved. The character on the right, Nelson (or Nelly for short), was raised in a wealthy, loving family. He's also in his first year of college and has his own apartment. He struggles with clinical depression and anxiety disorder though and really doesn't care about life or anything. He also doesn't really have any friends and is lonely. One night, Rat goes to a rich area of the city to steal expensive items to sell and breaks into Nelly's apartment. Nelly is still awake at that time because he has trouble sleeping and hears some commotion out in his living room. He goes out to see what all the noise is and catches Rat going through all his stuff. Rat immediately pulls his gun out at Nelly, but Nelly doesn't seem to care, telling him to go ahead and shoot him if he wants. This confuses Rat and he lowers his guard a bit. Nelly then asks him if he needs help and eventually Rat opens up to him about his alcohol and cigarette problem. Nelly feels moved by this and offers to help him and let him stay in his apartment with him and over time the two of them form a strong bond (yes, it's a m/m romance story xD). Anyway, I'm still working on some of the storyline, but that's the basic plot. ^^

Also, before anyone asks, no, Rat has never killed anyone. He has a teardrop tattoo because he was raped while he was in prison for a little while and the men who raped him put it there. Just thought I'd explain that because people on Facebook were thinking he killed someone and I know that's what a lot of people think the teardrop tattoo means, which maybe it does for some people, but it has different meanings. I also gave him that tattoo and also Nelly that mole to symbolize how different their lives are.
